The Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Scotland) Act 2014 set out the legislation governing health and social care in Scotland with the intention of improving outcomes for the population. North Lanarkshire Council and NHS Lanarkshire opted for the “body corporate” model of integration, forming the Integration Joint Board and setting out the range of delegated functions within the Integration Scheme, which was formally enacted on 1st April 2016.
North Lanarkshire Council and NHS Lanarkshire are consulting on the proposed changes, with a closing date for feedback of 11/02/2024.
